Propositions We Oppose
-
Requires healthcare providers participating in the Medi-Cal prescription drug discount program to spend 98% of their net revenue on direct patient care or face penalties.
Why SOS Opposes It: This measure could limit the flexibility of healthcare providers who serve vulnerable and low-income populations, potentially reducing the support available for these individuals.
-
Seeks to roll back some elements of Prop 47 (2014), which reduced penalties for certain low-level crimes and funneled savings from incarceration into rehabilitative/reentry programming, youth programs, and victim's support services.
Why SOS Opposes It: This would reverse hard-won criminal justice reforms, exacerbating incarceration rates rather than supporting re-entry and rehabilitation efforts. It would cost taxpayers over $1 billion a year, taking that money away from K-12, mental health, and victim services that have benefited thousands of Californians.
